If I could describe this procedure in one sentence it would be: giving a tooth a second chance. It is the procedure through which the nerve of the tooth is removed when it has already been contaminated by processes such as cavities or also when there is excessive sensitivity that does not improve with any other alternative; and later this space is filled with a biocompatible material in order to maintain the stability of that tooth.
